The upside world

It was winter and i was going to Voghera, not too far from Milan, by car.

There i would have found the snow….but not on the highway and in the country all around.

Beautiful lands and trees on the flat ground.

I took some pictures and…. working on those i felt like a landscape painter of past centuries.

I tried to give you back that certain light of the country…under a pale sun…..

Do you think it was really quiet like it seemed to be?

Or maybe something was burning under the surface… blow up the upside world….

Fiori, cose, persone…A photographic collective at III Symposium of contemporary art in Scampia, Napoli

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Four artists’ works about vision of life on women and things presented inside the III Symposium of contemporary art of Scampia, Naples.

Patrizia Di Siro, though black and white shots, talks about the beauty sense that still remain in withering flowers; a metaphor of women’s life, whose beauty ling on beyond the elapse of time, as the beauty is in every place, it needs only wish to see it.

Anja Mattila Tolvanen, uses her camera like a lens, toi catch little details in the wide finnish landscapes. A careful research that force to pay attention on the beauty of partiality.

Gianmario Masala, presents some photographs taken inside a psico-phisic disabled institute. Reality of youngs that face life from a very particular point of view is dramatic showed through use of multiple layer of textures.

Antonella Prota Giurleo, Will project a dvd: “Mani dicenti”, containing pictures taken between India and Italia. Women’s hands, gestures of female knowledge taken from everyday life and artworks, re-ordered in a sequence referred to the lapse of a day.

This composition is the fourth of a new series i ve made for the collective exhibition “Labor Union, a long way…” that took place in Milan on last March 2011. There were about 30 invited photographers with 5 pictures from each one. I curated the set up of the expo and the catalogue on dvd too, the curator of the event was Antonella Prota Giurleo.

Questa composizione è la quarta di una nuova serie creata per la mostra collettiva “Camera del Lavoro, un lungo cammino…”, tenuta a Milano lo scorso mese di marzo 2011. Hanno partecipato circa 30 fotografi su invito con 5 opere ciascuno. Io mi sono occupato anche dell’allestimento e del cataloga della mostra su dvd, mentre artista curatrice dell’evento era Antonella Prota Giurleo.
